Breaking new ground for the show ... it is now 2 hours and as it turns out ... lots more work!

I don't mind though as bringing you my favourite music new and old is great fun! Look forward to a suggested album centered around ska, a double play that will introduce the son of a reggae veteran and an interview with an intergalactic ska outfit ... from Northern England!

A band that literally woke me up and not so literally dragged me to the stage appears in Offbeat Intros this time. Irie Fire have some very catchy tunes indeed and Sareii from the band chats to me, shares some stories and gives a great introduction into the band.

We will be taking a journey from Baltimore to Byron Bay as we play ska and Reggae tunes, the Australian influence coming from the fantastic Blue King Brown in the double play. Add to that the suggested album being "versions" of Horace Andy tracks by various dub artists and the show is definitely something to look forward to.

Completely unintentionally I seem to have filled the show with amazing female artists. The guys get a look in but it's about time I played more tunes from talented ladies!

Nile Dawta joins me talking from Nairobi, Kenya as we discuss her musical journey so far and her new track! The double play and suggested album are both bands that have been around for AGES and I am excited to share then with you 🙂

A lovely selection of tunes awaits you. The featured album was a new find for me. If you haven’t heard of New Kingston you are in for a treat. Offbeat Intros gives an insight into the Band - “Niceness” - as I managed to get the front woman and singer Koral to have a chat with me.

The double play is a treat from a 9 piece energetic UK band who are a favourite at festivals.

Ska ska a go go! With influences like Less Than Jake and Reel Big Fish, Offbeat intros brings the Californian ska band – Half Past Two. I managed to get the front woman - Tara on the phone to chat about the band and their new release!

We say farewell to U-Roy, get slightly disappointed with the Rock and Roll Hall of fame AND learn more about the Jamaican reggae artist Buckey Ranks.

This might win you a pub quiz … who were the first ska band in Chile? Santiago Rebelde appear as the double play with some frankly nuts ska music.

Andy chats to a Californian band that mixes reggae, ska, hip hop and more into their music. The new album is ace and you need to listen to it!

Really pleased to have got to chat to Steph and Rob of Rebel Vibe ... a band who's music is taking the online reggae world by storm! I'll also delve into an album I feel you should own from Easy Star All Stars. Yes ... it is an interpretation of another album ... from the 90s as it goes 🙂

"Are there Christmas songs?" you ask. No there are not. I have my reasons.

I do however have an amazing chat with Trenton & Free Radical .. a south African artist who has worked with Maxi Jazz of Faithless and Lee Scratch Perry!

The double play is getting back to the roots of good old Ska music in the form of The Aggrolites, we have new music as a tribute to his father from Junior Toots and SO MUCH MOOOOORE!

The featured album is a good one. I think. I didn't listen. More explained in the show!

After a drought of interviews we are back with a great and insightful chat with Justin from surf rock reggae band - Cali Conscious.

I have a few golden oldies bringing rocksteady and reggae vibes plus a few new ones too, including the exclusive heads up of the Skapones new track!

Thanks to a showbiz friend being tagged in a post with the double play artist I found new (to me) UK Ska which was a result! Also the featured album brings music that you NEED in your collection. Arkaingelle (yes I spelt that correctly) has a new album and we preview two tracks!

All Interviews fell through so there's more music! Double play from Common Kings as I fall across a video on Facebook. A French chap searched America and Jamaica for Reggae inspiration, did he manage it? I take a look into a couple of his tunes! Also the suggested album, well ... EP ... is from Mr Prefect himself! Called "Dumplin Shop" it's worth your hard earned money and I tell you why!

It's been a month off due to the laptop dying but Andy is back with the FINEST rocksteady, roots, dub and ska!

The double play is a Nigerian/Italian artist who recorded at the legendary Tuff Gong Studio. New music from Dandy Livingstone is covered with his new release as the featured album and he shows you the new release from Toots and the Maytals! Just before his passing Toots released a new album and one particular song shows their interpretation of a popular Bob Marley tune!

Add in a lovely chat with the ska and reggae band Stop The Presses and we have a pretty packed show!

This time I get an education as to what HARD reggae sounds like when you throw in dub and punk at the same time. Dakka Skanks are in conversation with Andy for Offbeat Intros.

You may well know Lincoln Barrington by a different name but he is our double play this week PLUS I let myself loose in the community, socially distanced of course as I went to my local record store.

I’ll be dropping some tracks from the albums I got including Gregory Isaacs, Prince Far I and The Beat.

This show features London's Finest Dub & Lover's Rock Heavyweights, that’s the byline to their website as I delve into a sic piece reggae band for the double play.

The Wailers have a new album out… I’ll grab two songs from that to give you an insight and … if you like the chatty bits – I have Tasha T – The Musical Ambassador in conversation plus we play some of her tunes too.

If I said, "if it weren't for me, Tree House Fire's new album wouldn't exist” … would you believe me? Doubt it was me to be honest BUT I have news about their Isolation Jams in this weeks’ show!

UK Two Tone legends make it into the featured artist pages of the website AND I speak to Mr Kingpin. Based in Dallas, in the USA … he makes music with a distinct old school Jamaican feel.

A six piece band from Kingston just won't be pigeon holed into a musical genre, they can be considered the double play for this week as we delve into two of their tracks!

Andy was privileged and blessed to be able to speak to Scratchylus about his career and musical passion, he got introduced to Kiddus I too which was a treat.

Expect a great mix of tunes from The Rudies, Rag and Bone Man (Shy FX Remix) and Koffee to The Skints, Iration and The Mighty Diamonds.

Lopaka Rootz lives on the big island of Hawaii in Kailua Kona. We speak about his rise in popularity and his recent single that is taking Hawaiian radio stations by storm!

We look into a band who are keeping us entertained with their isolation jams AND a band who are helping to raise money for the NHS in this time of need.

We also look to a 5 piece from Tuscany in our double play!

There's also an artist, dubbed the King of Reggae who would have been 75 on the 6th Feb 2020. We FINALLY induct him into the Offbeat featured artist wall of fame! About time too. Lots more to look forward to including a big well done to the winner of the Best Reggae Album Grammy!

UB40 are huge right? Matt Hoy has been a vocalist in the band for over 10 years and is now also making some solo stuff. He's the first person to be on "Offbeat Intros" as we look at artists and chat about their new releases! In the show I also look towards an Australian multi-instrumental loop pedal queen (!)
